Give us an overview of Renaissance Title and Escrow.
We got started because my business partner and I, who previously worked together, got to talking and realized we each bring a different skill set to the industry, but we both have a big passion for title and this idea started out as a question: “What if we did this ourselves?” In our previous roles, we didn’t have the autonomy to make the changes we wanted to make, but the more we explored the idea, the more Renaissance Title became a reality. For us, it was a unique opportunity to do title the way we wanted to do title. We wanted to develop a good closing experience for buyers, sellers, mortgage companies and Realtors. We really consider ourselves a boutique title company because we’re client-focused and a personalized touch is important to us. There isn’t 100 people handling your file—it’s us and when you call, you’re going to speak directly to our team members.

Before coming onboard this year, what were some of the biggest challenges you were encountering in your customers’ property transactions, and what led you to reQuire?
Release tracking is always such a headache, and you don’t realize at the time of closing what a headache it can be as a post-closing issue. For us, reQuire provided peace of mind and ease of use. For instance, we’re already getting releases for deals we closed in December. To be honest, releases in general can be difficult to get, but this way we’re making sure we’re giving clear title and releases are being recorded without the worry.

Can you speak to the biggest benefits Release Tracking Plus and Title Curative solutions deliver for your business?
With title, there’s always a million different headaches. It’s nice that it can easily be taken off our plate and we know somebody else is watching it.

What would you say to those who are trying to manage release tracking/title curative in-house?
When I started in title, we did everything in-house. I’ve learned in my time in the industry that there are so many providers out there that can make our processes easier and allow us to be more available for our clients. We should leverage their expertise. If there is a company you can trust to handle your tracking and curative, it gives you time back to dedicate to clients and allows you to take care of the bigger, more pressing items like focusing on the growth of your business.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience with reQuire?
Ultimately, the great thing about reQuire was the ease of setting it up. One call and log in later, we were up and running!
