AUGUST 2021 ISSUE

Summer is always a busy time, and while the housing market shows signs of cooling it certainly doesn’t mean anyone’s relaxing. At reQuire, we welcome the flurry of activity. We’re gearing back up for in-person conferences, onboarding new clients and welcoming new faces to our team.

As we begin to emerge from the COVID haze, Fannie Mae’s latest National Housing Survey has revealed that consumers were largely satisfied with navigating the mortgage process in an increasingly digital landscape, despite lenders transitioning to remote working conditions in early 2020 and handling record-high origination volume. In fact, 88% of recent homebuyers reportedly expressed satisfaction in Q1 2021, unchanged from 2020. While title is only one part of the mortgage chain, title companies are responsible for processes that can have some of the biggest impact on the consumer experience and overall satisfaction. These processes can involve lien issues and closing delays that cause frustration and confusion in the final mile. Clients who work with reQuire know the importance of mitigating these issues since they can not only decrease consumer trust but also increase the chances of reputational harm. Since 2002, we’ve been working with client (and consumer) satisfaction in mind and are proud to be the nation’s leading lien release tracking provider. After all, every tracked lien creates a happy customer for you and a more accountable industry for us.

1. Where do you live?
I live in Parker, Colorado.

2. Tell us a little about your family.
I have two amazing daughters, Peyton, 22, and Morgan, 17. I am engaged to an incredible woman, Tanisha, and we are planning a wedding in Sicily in 2022. We have two blue heelers, Gus and Lulu.

3. Why are you excited to join the reQuire team?
The primary reasons I am excited to join reQuire are that I believe my skill sets, industry relationships and valued experience have perfectly aligned with a position and product that has an extremely high value-add to this industry. In addition, reQuire is known for their industry-leading operational execution, alongside customer service that is second to none—all combined with a truly inspiring leadership team that empowers its people to be successful.

4. What compelled you to work in the title industry?
I took a big risk when I entered the industry. In early 2013, I was catching up with a college roommate who owns an agency in Oklahoma. He half-jokingly encouraged me to consider starting an agency in Colorado. Having very little title experience that I gained only in the mortgage industry, I was a little nervous to say the least. My wholesale mortgage background provided me with the opportunity to manage operations and sales. With these skills and my mortgage industry contacts, all I needed was to surround myself with great title people. The rest is history. We sold the company in 2018, and here I am—proud to be part of the reQuire team!

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I am an avid golfer and a fly-fishing guide, and I love to travel.

reQuire is pleased to have Pete Palermo join as VP of Business Development. Pete’s extensive title services and operations experience will help strengthen our existing client relationships and continue to position us as the nation’s leading lien release tracking provider.
